The National Parks: America's Best Idea

Filmmaker Ken Burns and his longtime colleague Dayton Duncan brings us a six episode series entitled "The National Park: America's Best Idea". Starting September 27 and continuing through October 2, this PBS documentary will run from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM Est. Filmed over a course of more than six years at some of America's greatest and most majestic locations, it is nonetheless a story of people: people from every conceivable background who were willing to devote themselves to saving some precious portion of the land they loved, and in doing so reminded their fellow citizens of the full meaning of democracy.
