Inupiat Heritage Center
For Kids

Education is an important part of the Inupiat Heritage Center's mission. Barrow kids come to the Center in school groups and on their own. Here they can experience Inupiat dances, learn new skills and hear traditional stories. For more information or to arrange a school trip, please call the Center.

Junior Ranger Program
Follow a whale through the leads in the sea ice, learn the Inupiaq names for the parts of an umiaq (skin boat), and create your own whaling crew flag! You can download the Inupiat Heritage Center's Junior Ranger Booklet.

You can also follow in the footsteps of Herman Melville in New Bedford. Follow the same link, which takes you to New Bedford Whaling National Historic Park's Kids Page. You can download Junior Ranger and Art Ranger booklets, which take you on a tour of New Bedford's historic district and lively art scene.
