Explore Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore's Chellberg Farm and our shared Duneland Heritage during this open house hosted by a ranger and volunteers on September 20, from 1:00 p.m. –4:00 p.m.
Celebrate this season of apples through traditional craft and farming demonstrations at the historic Chellberg Farm. Watch an apple pie cooking demonstration on the old-fashioned woodstove, learn how to make a Clove Apple pomander to freshen up your home, or try your hand at an old-fashioned apple cider press before enjoying a free sample of cider. Stop by the farm's garden to see what's being harvested and preserved this time of year, watch a sewing demonstration using on an old-fashioned foot-operated sewing machine, or just sit back and enjoy "Banjo Bob" Ahrendt as he sings some traditional songs in front of the farm house. This event is free and receives support from the Friends of Indiana Dunes.
The Chellberg/Bailly parking lot is located on Mineral Springs Road between U.S. 20 and Highway 12 in Porter, Indiana.
