INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE:Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore and the entire National Park Service are back open. Fall colors should reach their peak in the next two weeks making it a great time to take a leisurely stroll along any of the national lakeshore’s 45 miles of trail or bike along the recently opened Porter Brickyard Bike Trail. Stop by the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center between8:30 am and 4:30 pmto talk with a ranger and plan out your visit to the dunes. The National Park Service thanks the public for their patience during the shutdown of the park and to the following partners that helped out during the shutdown: Porter County Tourism, Dunes National Park Association, Indiana Landmarks, Town of Beverly Shores, City of Gary, the Dunes Learning Center, City of Portage, and Indiana Dunes State Park.
