INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: Celebrate spring and the return of the growing season on Saturday, May 17, at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore’s historic Chellberg Farm. Two programs will be offered in the farm’s garden that can help you learn about maintaining your own organic home garden.

From 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., join a ranger and help get the Chellberg Farm’s garden off to a good start this season. This Stewardship Day program will help you get some hands-on experience with everything from pulling weeds to planting heirloom variety seeds. Wear comfortable work clothes. Work gloves and other equipment will be provided.

If you’re looking for something less strenuous, stop by the garden between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. and enjoy Garden Days at Chellberg Farm. Learn all about organic gardening, heirloom seeds, and other aspects of maintaining your own environmentally-friendly garden while you tour the family garden and grounds of the historic Chellberg Farm.
