INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: Join author Ken Schoon on Sunday, June 23, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore’s visitor center to learn about his new book, “Dreams of Duneland.” The book is an illustrated introduction to the Indiana dunes region featuring its history, culture and special places.
Dr. Schoon will present an illustrated talk on a Duneland region that includes everything from national and state parks to residential communities, heavy industry and a variety of cultural attractions. National lakeshore superintendent Constantine Dillon wrote in the Foreword to Dreams for Duneland that, “Telling the story of such a conflicted landscape is a challenge… Ken Schoon offers a comprehensive overview of all this history and takes the reader on a virtual tour of time and space across the Indiana dunes region.
Following the program, the author will be available to sign copies of the book. Copies will be available for purchase at the visitor center’s sales outlet.
