Peregrine Falcon: The path to recovery. Teacher resource packet. Indiana Department of Natural Resources.
The Peregrine Falcon, whose population plummeted in the 1950's, primarily due to the widespread use of the chemical DDT, has received considerable nationwide attention to aid its recovery. This packet was created because education is clearly an important element in the long-term success of recovery efforts. It will serve to motivate teachers and students to understand and appreciate the fascinating peregrine falcon, its plight, and its encouraging fight to recovery. Three themes are: the fascinating falcon, the human connection, and driving into the future. All themes include corresponding activities.
