Antelope and Buffalo Springs - Platt Historic District, Chickasaw National Recreation Area. This area is a historic designed landscape in the eastern portion of the Platt Historic District. Antelope and Buffalo Springs are the origins of the Travertine Creek that flows east to west through the area. The site is used primarily for hiking, walking, and nature observation.
Along with the rest of the District, a majority of this component landscape was constructed in the 1930s by CCC crews. Its planning and style reflect the NPS principles of rustic design and construction that were common to this era of park development.
