National Junior Ranger Day Celebration

In celebration of National Junior Ranger Day, Petroglyph National Monument invites children of all ages to play traditional North American Indian games such as double ball, patole (a dice game), corncob darts, and spear-atlatl throwing. Games will be played at the Visitor Center from 10 am to 1 pm.

From 1 pm to 3 pm join a park ranger for educational programs on the anatomy, habitat, and behavior of indigenous wild birds and reptiles using live animals. Sponsored in cooperation with Talking Talons Youth Leadership. 

Children who attend and participate in both activities will be awarded with special National Junior Ranger pins and patches.

These programs are free and open to the public. The Visitor Center is located at 4735 Unser Blvd. NW  at Western Trail. Call Susanna at 505-899-0205 ext. 332 for more information and driving directions.
