Species Lists

One of the goals of the North Coast and Cascade Network is to work with park natural resources staff to develop and maintain vascular plant and vertebrate species lists for each network park. These species lists are managed in NPSpecies, the master biodiversity database for the National Park Service.

The species lists here represent best-available information but are also works in progress. Following the initial resource inventories, local experts well-versed in the biology, taxonomy, and nomenclature of park species evaluated and reviewed the species information before we finalized the lists. We continue to update the lists as new information is available. Keep in mind that the absence of a species from a list doesn't necessarily mean the species is absent from a park. For some groups of organisms, the most up-to-date information may be available directly from a park.
