Module 320: Partners in Interpretation

Partnerships enable us to better achieve unit and agency

(HFC Image)

Competency Context
Partnerships in interpretation are collaborative efforts between an NPS unit and another entity (such as cooperative associations, friends groups, other not-for-profit organizations, volunteers-in-the-parks, universities, businesses, and concessionaires) which produce or enhance interpretive products or services that help each partner achieve their vision consistent with their mission.

Partnerships enable us to better achieve unit and agency visions and to support the defining missions. The full performance interpreter should understand the written agreements for formal existing partnerships. They should be able to work with a partner(s) to develop an informal partnership proposal. The three components of this module are the basis for partnerships in interpretation.

Competency Curriculum
The following curriculum components outline the developmental learning elements that compose the skills set for this competency. From these outlines, 1) employees and their supervisors can determine
learning needs and strategies, 2) instructors can develop sessions and lesson plans.
