Harry S. Truman Library & Museum - located in Independence, was established by President Truman in 1957.

Harry S Truman Office & Courtroom - located in the 1933 Jackson County Courthouse on historic Independence Square. This facility is closed until 2012.

Did You Know?
When Mrs. Truman’s grandmother died in 1924, her will left her house to her son (Bess Truman’s uncle). Mrs. Truman’s mother purchased the house from him for $10,000 and owned it until her death in 1952.
