Though it is impossible for natural elements to be "frozen in time," it is possible to maintain the general appearance of the cultural landscape. This plan guides park staff in the maintenance of the property. All floor plans have been removed for security reasons.

The world changed a lot during Truman’s life. He wrote to Bess, “These young kids can’t stand the physical and mental inconveniences that the old heads take as a matter of course…. They all live in a machine-convenience age and when the machine doesn’t function for them they are out of luck.”
