Harry S Truman National Historic Site is located in Independence, Missouri, near the south bank of the Missouri River, in the western edge of the state and a few miles east of Kansas City. The park consists of five properties, covering over 12 acres pertaining to the Truman and Wallace families, including the Truman Home, the Noland Home, the Frank and George Wallace Homes, and the Truman Farm in nearby Grandview, Missouri.

Mr. Truman is now viewed as a common citizen who lacked visions of grandeur, yet still rose to the nation’s highest level of power, without that power changing him.
