Fordyce Bathhouse Visitor Center Closed
The Fordyce Bathhouse Visitor Center is closed until Fall 2013 for a major maintenance project. A temporary park Visitor Center, along with the park store, are located in the Lamar Bathhouse at the south end of Bathhouse Row. Call for more information.
Junior Trail Ranger
The park now has a Junior Trail Ranger program. Children may pick up a program guide at the visitor center and complete walking at least three designated trails and complete five activities. They will then return to the park visitor center to receive an award pin. "Let's Move Outside" is a national program to promote activity in the outdoors. Numerous studies have shown that exercise has many health benefits and just being in a natural setting has been shown to lower blood pressure. This program is sponsored by the National Park Foundation, Unilever, and Eastern National. Bring your kids for a walk in the park! |

The Public Health Service operated a venereal disease clinic in the Government Free Bathhouse (1922-1948) in Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas. It was one of the first facilities in the United States to use penicillin. In 1948, the clinic transferred to the nearby Camp Garraday Transient Camp.
