Volunteers Needed to Carry Homesteading State Flags

Are you interested in representing a homestead state by carrying its state flag in this year's Homestead Days Parade on Saturday June 16th, 2012? Homestead National Monument is seeking people who participated in the Homestead Act of 1862 or are descendents of people who received land through the Homestead Law that have a strong connection to one of the 30 Homestead States. 

Proudly represent your Homestead State by carrying the state flag during:

The Homestead Day's Parade
Saturday, June 16, 2012.

Volunteers must be able to carry their state's flag for a distance of no more than 1.5 miles.  

 

The Thirty Homesteading States, "x" indicates that the monument has received a sufficient number of applicants to select from as representatives for June 16th.
