Come Listen to Old Time Songs at Homestead

Ever wondered about the history of the dulcimer?  On Saturday, July 18, 2009, come to Homestead National Monument of America for a Campfire Program on “Old Time Songs, Hymns, and Fun Tunes and History of the Dulcimer” given by Forrest and Eileen Smith, directors of the North Mississippi Dulcimer Club and find out just what the history of the dulcimer is.  The Smiths will be joined by the Homestead Dulcimer Club. 

Campfire Programs begin at 7:30 p.m. and last approximately one hour.  This Campfire program will be held inside the Education Center.

Homestead National Monument of America is a unit of the National Park Service located four miles west of Beatrice, Nebraska.  Current hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.  Admission is free of charge.  For additional information, please call 402-223-3514 or visit www.nps.gov/home.
