Mark on your calendar for October 24, 2015, at 6 p.m. for Howling Homestead at Homestead National Monument of America's Heritage Center! This fun, annual event is great for the whole family. Come learn about the real critters that sometimes make Halloween scary, like bugs, bats, coyotes, and owls. Look through telescopes at amazing stars and planets, learn about archeology, and hear some wonderful homesteading stories.  Register for this free event upon arrival. Designated groups will rotate through stations over the course two hours. The final group ends at9 pm.

If you can be one of the first 100 kids, you can pick out your very own pumpkin, thanks to a generous donation from Friends of Homestead. There will be hot apple cider and yummy cookies for everyone. Many of the evening activities will be outdoors, so please dress for cool weather. We won't try to be scary. The event is appropriate for all ages. Please leave your costumes at home.
