Troubadour and storysmith Jack Gladstone will be presenting a free concert at Homestead National Monument of America's Education Center on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at 2 pm.

From the Blackfeet Nation of Montana, Jack Gladstone is regarded as a cultural bridge builder. His performances showcase the American Indian experience through a rich mosaic of music, lyric poetry, and spoken narrative. A former college instructor, Jack co-founded Glacier National Park's nationally renowned lecture series, "Native America Speaks". After 29 seasons, this program is the longest running indigenous speaker series in the history of the National Park Service.

Gladstone has recorded 15 critically acclaimed albums and presented thousands of concerts, workshops, and school programs. In 2011, Gladstone garnered the prestigious "Best Historical Recording" award from the Native American Music Association for his masterpiece,Native Anthropology;Challenge, Choice, and Promise in the 21st Century. In 2013, Jack was honored with the C.M. Russell Heritage Award that recognizes his contribution to "the legacy, culture, life, and country of Russell's West." Jack became the first Montanan and only Native American to be so honored.

"His public performances weave Blackfeet history and tradition with contemporary life." said Superintendent Mark Engler. Gladstone recently gave a TED talk in which he surveyed the culture and biology of indigenous North America and examined the path of both conflict and confluence with Euro-American cultures.
