Today's Accomplishments:

Cornelison, Cooper, and Lawson traveled to Texas to undertake an archeological project on a Mexican-American War battlefield. The rest of the crew continued to excavate the top and south side of Mound A. Steve Kidd acted as crew chief assisting co-PI Dave Anderson in running the team while the others were gone.

Another photograph of the fired red surface at the north end of Mound A summit. When the surface was wet down, as in this case, the red is very pronounced.

SEAC archaeologist and University of Indiana graduate student Josh Wells using one of the hoses to wet down the fired structure floor at the north end of the mound summit. Water hoses capable of reaching all parts of the excavations were put in place early in the excavations, to wet down units prior to photography, and keep units from getting too baked out.

Strata in the west wall of N37 E180, prior to excavation. We continue to take down units in the control trench in 10cm levels, while taking out units to either side using natural strata. The red fill in the wall is one strata we have been following with great interest.
