Today's Goals: Today is David Anderson's birthday! Continue work on trench across the top of Mound A, and document structure feature at the base of Mound A to the south.
Screening fill.  Screening fill. Much of our work today involved screening a lot of fill. Monte Abbott is hard at work at the screens today at the base of the mound. On top of the mound Brenda Moss helps Chuck Lawson and Jay Sturdevant screen fill from their unit.
Cutting root. Roots are always a challenge to the excavator. Here John Cornelison is sawing a problematic root out of a unit.
Features at the base of Mound A. Structure found at the base of Mound A, note the three postmolds in a row (center) and the one in the upper right corner (near the North arrow). Red bands appear to the north and south of the posts.
Visitors. We were visited today by Dr. Tim Pauketat's Field School from the University of Illinois.
