Today's Goals: Continue the electrical resistance survey, continue working on the trench across the top of Mound A, and work on the accuracy of the step trench to the south of Mound A.
Continuing electrical resistance survey. Working in the woods: Geoff Jones continuing the electrical resistance survey while Sudha Shah clears brush and Pam Edwards pulls ropes.
Building the boardwalk extension. Work begins on the boardwalk extension across the top of Mound A, preparing for the staircase down the north side of the mound.
Excavating in the northernmost unit. On the edge: Meredith Hardy working on the northernmost excavation unit on top of Mound A. The edge of the mound is visible just in front of her.
Red floor in the base of unit. Red floor showing in the base of this unit on top of Mound A. This same floor has been noted at the base of the mound (to the south) and in smaller patches in other excavation units. The bands of red clay are very noticeable in the profiles of these units.
