| Today's Goals: |
Continue with the profile mapping of the south
and top trenches on Mound A, and continue excavation of the north trench.
Tammy Cooper's birthday was today, celebrated at the site. |

Filling sandbags atop Mound A, using screened fill
from the excavation units. The sandbags will be used to protect the units
from water, and to stabilize the trenches as we close down. The plan is
to leave the trenches covered and stabilized until we return, tentatively
planned for next spring. From left to right: Robert Hellman, Chuck Lawson,
Margo Schwadron, Jessica McNeil, and Steve Kidd. |

Mound stage clay cap located in the north step
trench, in N70E181. Evidence for internal mound stage clay capping surfaces
is turning up in many of the units in the north trench now, as the units
get deeper into the mound. |
