Today's Goals: Our efforts today are being concentrated on the north step trench and the features on top of Mound A. Mapping, photographing, and backfilling the west side excavations continue.
Mapping the west side excavations.  Backfilling a unit. Mapping the west side excavations include Frank Roberts' 1933-34 trenches, our 1999 excavation units, and the Apron fill. John Cornelison gave Drew Wilburn a hand in backfilling the mapped and photographed units.
North step trench excavations. North step trench excavations continue - if you look a long way down you can see our project VIP Mavis Sutherland who brought her husband, Dr. Sutherland, to visit the excavations.
Visitation from newspaper reporter. We were visited also by Terry VanEaton, the Assistant Editor of The Courier, a weekly newspaper in Savannah, TN. An article should appear on Thursday, August 23rd.
