The House of Representatives chamber housed the 120-member House from 1840 to 1961. The semicircular seating plan is based on the design of a Greek amphitheater. The Senate chamber housed the Senate from 1840 to 1961. The room's details are modeled after a famous temple in Athens, Greece.
