- The National Historic Landmarks Program in conjunction with other National Park Service programs is pleased to join efforts with several federal agencies, museums and organizations, in commemorating Jewish American Heritage Month during the month of May. Please visit our web feature highlighting several NHLs commemorating the Jewish American contribution to our nation's diverse history.
- The National Park System Advisory Board approved the proposed Captain John Smith Chesapeake National Historic Water Trail in 2006, which commemorates two exploratory voyages made by Captain John Smith in areas of the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries in 1608.
