9. Hopewell Archeology
at the British Museum
Hopewell
archeology will be featured in the North American
Gallery
at the British Museum, scheduled to open in
1997. The staff at Hopewell Culture National
Historical Park hosted a visit in March from
Jonathan King, Assistant Keeper at the British
Museum. King gathered information and photographed
mounds and earthworks at the Mound City Group
for use in the introduction to the North American
Gallery. The exhibit will feature artifacts
collected by E. G. Squier and E. H. Davis during
their pioneering mound explorations in the
1840s. |
