List of Park Deaccessions
Gettysburg Notice of Intent to Deaccession
Gettysburg National Military Park is planning to exchange three early 19th century hunting rifles with The Horse Soldier, an independent dealer in military antiques located in Gettysburg, PA. The hunting rifles fall outside of the park's approved Scope of Collection. In exchange, the park will receive a number of Union and Confederate reunion badges to supplement exhibits on reunion and reconciliation in the post-civil War era. This is a theme of importance to the park's overall interpretive exhibit mission and a focus of acquisition under the approved Scope of Collection. Any questions regarding this exchange may be addressed to Greg Goodell, Museum Services Supervisor, at 717-338-4451 or greg_goodell@nps.gov.
Bandelier Notice of Conveyance
Bandelier National Monument intends to convey a Taos Pueblo scale model (BAND 734) to the New Mexico History Museum. This model does not fit the updated 2010 Scope of Collections Statement for the park. Taos Pueblo is not part of the affiliated pueblo groups having ancestral ties to Bandelier and the surrounding areas.
The model is appropriate for the New Mexico History Museum’s main exhibition Telling New Mexico: Stories from Then and Now. The exhibit tells more than 500 years of stories through artifacts, films, photographs, computer interactions, and oral histories.
For questions regarding this conveyance, contact Gary Roybal, Museum Technician/Native American Liaison--phone: 1.505.672.3861 x 708 or by email: gary_royball@nps.gov.
