Pohnpei Archaeological Survey
A team of historic preservation specialists from Australia's Charles Sturt University has carried out an archaeological survey of the former Japanese agricultural research station at Pwunso completed by the end of July 2006.

Japanese Period in Yap
A National Park Service Historic Preservation Fund grant program in which the Yap State (FSM Caroline Islands) Historic Preservation Office (HPO) combined Japanese Era (1914-1945) oral history gathering with HPO staff training is nearing completion. Photos, movies (Japanese Navy films) and other documentation of the Japanese Era were collected and organized and are being utilized in support of video taped Yapese informant interviewing activity.

Condition Assessment of Historic Aircraft in Yap
During the week of June 18 to 24, 2006, The International Group for Historic aircraft Recovery (acronym TIGHAR, pronounced tiger) conducted an archaeological assessment of World War II-era Japanese aircraft wrecks in the State of Yap, Federated States of Micronesia.

Kosrae Archeological Survey and Training Project
Kosrae (FSM) Historic Preservation Office is hosting an archaeological training project in excavation and site interpretation. Dr. Felicia Beardsley, University of La Verne, is the principal investigator for the project, which is being conducted at the site of Finol Tokosra, Upper Tofol. The site was located two years ago during a training project in archaeological reconnaissance, survey and mapping strategies.

Training on the "Documentation, Investigation, Analysis, and Treatment of a Cultural Resource Site (both Cultural Landscapes and Concrete Conservation): the Japanese Agriculture Station in the Pohnpei Botanical Garden." Training is scheduled for January 23-27, 2006 at Kolonia, Pohnpei, FSM, sponsored by the National Park Service, Pacific West Region and Pohnpei Department of Lands and Natural Resources.
