The Micronesia and American Samoa Historic Preservation Assistance Program is a partnership with historic preservation offices in American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), and the Republic of Palau.

Grants from the Historic Preservation Fund(HPF) and local contributions fund the participating programs. To receive HPF grants local programs meet the requirements of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (16USC470) as amended. The National Park Service administers the HPF grants and provides limited technical assistance in historic preservation and cultural resource management. Cultural resources include but are not limited to archaeological sites, historic sites, cultural landscapes, historic buildings and structures, and objects
important for their historical or cultural associations.
