Fee schedule for applications

Does the NPS charge a fee to process the application?

Answer
Yes. Fees are applied to the Part 2 and Part 3 application. The NPS does not charge a fee to review a Part 1 application. For all Part 2 applications where the rehabilitation cost is $20,000 or more there is a preliminary processing fee of $250 for review. Once the project is completed and the applicant has submitted a Part 3 application, another fee is charged based on the actual rehabilitation costs. Fees are assessed in accordance with the schedule provided here:

Project Cost Total Fee (-) Preliminary Final Fee
  $ 20,000 to 99,999 $ 500 (-) $250 $ 250
  $100,000 to 499,999 $ 800 (-) $250 $ 550
  $500,000 to 999,999 $1500 (-) $250 $1250
  $1,000,000 or more $2500 (-) $250 $2250

When a Part 2 or Part 3 application is submitted, the applicant must pay the processing fee before the NPS can review the project. The NPS sends the applicant a bill when it receives the application. This bill can be paid by check, money order, or credit card. To expedite review, the applicant may enclose a credit card payment form with the application.
