This church was used for town meetings and assemblies in the era before the Revolutionary War. One of the colonists complaints against the British government was that they were being unfairly taxed. Led by Samuel Adams, the "Sons of Liberty" held a meeting here on December 16. 1773, to organize the Boston Tea Party. You know what happened next!
