The National Historic Preservation Program – By the Numbers
Certified Local Governments (CLGs).
CLGs are the official local historic preservation partners of the National Park Service and State Historic Preservation Offices. The CLG program connects local, State, and Federal historic preservation efforts. The charts and graphs posted here address three aspects of the CLG program; i.e., 1) the growth and funding of the program, 2) the responsiveness of CLGs in each State in reporting on basic historic preservation accomplishments plus State/national projected totals of those accomplishments, and 3) CLG-by-CLG reports of annual and cumulative accomplishments.
Program History, Average Awards, and Impact on Inflation. The charts and graphs posted here present the CLG Program’s history the annual and cumulative number of CLGs, the projected minimum Historic Preservation Fund grant support available per eligible CLG, and the impact of inflation on the buying power of that funding.
Accomplishments Projections and Response Rankings. The charts posted here present for the two most recent Federal fiscal years, the responsiveness of CLGs in each State in reporting on basic historic preservation accomplishments plus State-wide and national projected totals of those accomplishments.
