Life Along the River

VILLAGE
LIFE

(image) Detail depicting Cahokian men constructing a village house.

Ultimately, mass migrations decimated the river towns-induced, perhaps, by overcrowding, poor sanitation, competition for limited resources, and the class structure. Little was left when the Europeans arrived. Illustration by Michael Hampshire. Use prohibited without permission.
