The José Antonio Navarro House Complex includes the home and law office of José Antonio Navarro, a prominent figure in the history of Texas. Born in Texas in 1795, Navarro was one of only two native Texans to sign the Texas Declaration of Independence in 1836. During his youth, Navarro was active in the struggle for independence of Texas from Spain, and later from Mexico. The complex includes three stuccoed limestone buildings: Navarro's despacho, or law office, a separate kitchen, and the house where he died in 1871.

The José Antonio Navarro House Complex is located at 228 South Laredo St. in San Antonio. It is open Tuesday-Sunday 10:00am to 4:00pm. There is a fee for admission except for Tuesdays between 5:00 and 8:00pm. Call 210-226-4801 or visit Casa Navarro State Historic Site's website for further information.
