Asheville Urban Trail Heritage Tour
This walking tour is a history and art museum without walls, a walk through time, an opportunity to examine the rich architecture, to enjoy neighborhoods and learn about the people and events that have given Asheville it's distinctive flair.  The entire Trail is 1.7 miles long, marked with pink granite markers embedded in the sidewalk, takes roughly two hours to walk.

Blue Ridge Parkway

Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Just west of Asheville is this national park which straddles the border between North Carolina and Tennessee. World renowned for the diversity of its plant and animal life, the beauty of its ancient mountains, the quality of its remnants of Southern Appalachian mountain culture, and the depth and integrity of its wilderness sanctuary, the park is a hiker's paradise with over 800 miles of trails.
