(Right) Kitchen in the headquarters of Brig. Gen. James Mitchell Varnum at Valley Forge National Historical Park, Valley Forge, Pa. During the winter of 1777-1778 nine persons stayed in the House: three members of the Stephens family and six members of the staff of General Varnum.
