Object Acquisition for Park Collections

We keep our eye out in the antique world for objects that are important to sites and alert parks when they come on the market. Often when we research and produce Historic Furnishings Reports we make contact with descendents of the original occupants of a historic site. Frequently these contacts result in the loan, purchase, reproduction, or donation of original objects. Even when objects are not immediately forthcoming, a good relationship established with descendents during the research process may result in donations years later.
