Conservation Stewardship: People Taking Care of Places exhibit

Carriage Barn Exhibits

“Conservation Stewardship: People Taking Care of Places” is the exhibition in the park’s rehabilitated Carriage Barn Visitor Center. This relatively new park site provides a historic backdrop to tell the evolution of the conservation movement beginning with George Perkins Marsh’s “Man and Nature” to the present day.

A key criteria for the new exhibit is that it had to aesthetically fit into the historic structure that houses it. Two models show the evolution of the park’s landscape, and a series of audio stations tell contemporary stories of stewardship. Computer stations provide a range of experiences for both adults and children.
