Discovery Center Exhibits
“Meriwether Lewis at Harpers Ferry” is the first exhibition
at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park conceived especially for
children. The exhibit focuses on the role of early 19th-century
Harpers Ferry in the survival of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
Exhibit structures are the most recent version of the NPS “Discovery
Center” modular exhibit system. This system uses proven interactive
exhibit techniques while allowing for colors and materials that
be customized to the site’s particular needs. A second room
in the building has been filled with accurate reproductions of items
that Meriwether Lewis obtained at Harpers Ferry.
