Your Safety

We have provided for your safety as much as possible, but there may still be hazards that require your attention. Please be careful and do not allow your visit to be spoiled by an accident.

Slippery boardwalks

The wooden boardwalks may be slippery during and after rain. Please be careful.

Ticks

To avoid tick bites, stay on the trails while walking in the prairie. Wearing long sleeves and pants will also reduce exposure, but be sure to check your clothes when you are done walking.

Creek

The banks of the creek that runs through the park are badly eroded and are very unstable. Please stay off the creek banks and out of the creek itself.
