WEST BRANCH, IOWA— The Visitor Center at Herbert Hoover National Historic Site will be closed on Thursday and Friday, October 1 and 2 while new carpet is installed. The Visitor Center will reopen after the work is completed on Saturday, October 3. Visitors to the park may still visit the grounds and historic buildings, including the Birthplace Cottage. The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library & Museum will also remain open.
“The Visitor Center has needed a new carpet for some time now,” said park superintendent Cheryl A. Schreier. “The work will last only two days, which we hope will limit the inconvenience to our visitors.”
Herbert Hoover National Historic Site and the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum are in West Branch, Iowa at exit 254 off I-80. Both are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time. Parking is limited so please allow extra time to find a parking space.
