The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Association's headquarters is in the "Yellow House" overlooking the National Historic Site.

The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library Association fosters the collection, interpretation, and preservation of historical resources relating to the life, ideas, values, and times of Herbert Hoover, thirty-first President of the United States. The Hoover Association supports both Herbert Hoover National Historic Site and the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum.

The east side of the Presidential Library and Museum was the original entrance before the museum was expanded and rennovated.

The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum houses papers and collections relating to both President and Mrs. Hoover. Former presidents Hoover and Truman dedicated the library in 1962. The National Archives and Records Administration operates this and eleven other Presidential Libraries and Museums.

The City of West Branch, Iowa is the home of Herbert Hoover National Historic Site. The West Branch Commercial Historic District along Downey and Main streets preserves 12 buildings from 1875 through 1929. In Herbert Hoover’s 31-year retirement from the presidency he never had any Secret Service protection. Not until 1965, one year after Hoover died, was lifetime Secret Service protection awarded to ex-presidents.
