WEST BRANCH, IOWA—The National Park Service will hold a public meeting to discuss design plans for a new permanent exhibit for the Visitor Center at Herbert Hoover National Historic Site. The meeting will be held at the Visitor Center on Tuesday, December 7 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. National Park Service staff and exhibit designers from The Design Minds, Inc. will present an overview of the project, its objectives, and a review of the proposed design. Participants will have an opportunity to comment and ask questions.

The new exhibit will work along with the park’s interpretive film, audio tour, wayside signs, historically furnished buildings, and proposed new exhibits at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum to tell the story of Herbert Hoover, 31st President of the United States. Accessible, interactive features in a new permanent exhibit at the Visitor Center will help visitors consider how Hoover’s early childhood experiences in West Branch may have shaped his future achievements and outlook on life.

Herbert Hoover National Historic Site and the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum are in West Branch, Iowa at exit 254 off I-80. Both are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time. Parking is limited so please allow extra time to find a parking space.
