December 18, 2012 - "John Keawe: Live in Concert"
Celebrate December with kiho`alu (slack-key) guitarist, composer and recording artist, John Keawe. Well known on the Hawaiian music scene, John has produced 10 albums in his career, seven of which were nominated for Nā Hoku Hanohano awards. His album entitled "Hawaii Island…Is My Home" won Keawe the first Nā Hoku Hanohano award for slack-key album of the year. Tonight's concert will also feature the "Beautiful Hula Dancer" herself, Hope Keawe, with her graceful interpretative hula. This program featuring John and Hope Keawe's lovely music and hula was produced by the University of Hawai'i-Mānoa Outreach College's Statewide Cultural Extension Program.
