Come and enjoy an evening of Hawaiian music and dance with Kumu Meleana Ulrich Manuel and Halau Ke `Olu Makani O Mauna Loa.
The halau from Volcano, Hawai`i celebrated its 20th year in 2010. Through song and dance, with confidence and respect, the halau seeks to perpetuate Hawaiian culture, history and protocol.
Meleana Ulrich-Manuel studied under the late Kumu Hula George Na`ope. Her halau has participated in hula festivals and competitions throughout Hawai`i, the mainland and Japan.

The endangered Honu`ea (Hawksbill Sea Turtle) comes to shore on the main Hawaiian Islands to nest. They lay multiple nests throughout the season with an average of 175 eggs per nest. Only one in 5,000 hatchlings survives to adulthood.
