For President's Day we bring you the story of the decades-long friendship between a member of the Ridgely family and Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th President of the United States. Henry White, a cousin of the fifth Master of Hampton, served as T.R.'s Ambassador to France and Ambassador to Italy during Roosevelt's tenure in the White House (1901-1909). Indeed, Theodore Roosevelt wrote of his friend Henry White: "The most useful man in the entire diplomatic service, during my Presidency and for many years before, was Henry White…" Space is limited.
The program may be repeated, if necessary, immediately following the first presentation. Your understanding and cooperation are gratefully appreciated.
