Visitor Center Operating Hours & Seasons

Winter:
Thursday - Monday (from August 26th till Memorial Weekend).
9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Closed Tuesday and Wednesday

The Visitor Center is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Day.


Summer:
Everyday (from Memorial Day Weekend to August 25th);
9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

The road leading to the Monument is a public road and is open 24 hours a day.  Access to the Monument closes at dusk.

The best know discovery is the Hagerman Horse, Equus simplicidens is the official Idaho state fossil. The Hagerman Horse Quarry, a national natural landmark, is recognized as one of the most important sites in the world related to the fossil history of the horse.
