Hagerman Fossil Beds offers a variety of fun and exciting educational opportunities for school and youth groups. Our programs are designed to meet Idaho Achievement Standards in Idaho science and history. Classroom Programs: Invite a Park Ranger to visit your classroom for a hands-on, interactive educational program. Each prepared program can be tailored to fit the specific needs of your group. Park Field Trips: Come to Hagerman Fossil Beds for a hands-on exploration of the fossil beds. Park Rangers can present formal programs, lead a guided walk, or help you plan a special program. Educational school programs are offered throughout the school year. Reservations are required. |
Did You Know?
An in situ specimen of Clemmys owyheensis (pond turtle) was found out in the Monument. The field crew also found a jaw with several teeth from Thomomys gidleyi (pocket gopher) and a jaw from Trigonictis idahoensis (grison from the weasel family).
