Goodloe E Byron Memorial Walkway Closures

The Goodloe E. Byron Memorial Pedestrian Walkway -- the Appalachian Trail route across the Potomac River, access to Maryland Heights and the C&O Canal -- is currently under construction and will be periodically closed for periods of up to 30 minutes throughout the summer.

Closures will occur every Friday & Saturday until 1 pm and some week nights (4 – 9 pm).

Thank you for your patience. For your safety, please follow instructions of those working on the project.

We are working to preserve and restore this important park asset using sustainable, recycled plastic lumber products.
